A New Fast Pi Controller Based Dstatcom under Balanced & Unbalanced Loading Conditions Using Instantaneous Synchronous Reference Theory

In this paper presents a fast new PI controlled DSTATCOM used to compensate for harmonic distortion in threephase system. The DSTATCOM employs a simple Method for the calculation of the reference compensation current based. The presented DSTATCOM is able to operate in balanced, unbalanced and Variable load conditions. Classic filters may not have satisfactory performance in fast varying conditions. But fast PI active power filter gives better results for harmonic minimization, reactive power compensation and power factor improvement. The proposed fast PIDSTATCOM maintains the THD well within IEEE519 standards.
